COVID-19 INTROSPECTIVE RETROSPECTIVE
a virtual exhibition showcasing the work of the spring 2020 portfolio development class at RVCC
BIO: KEITH CASWELL
Never residing inside the box and forever stationed way beyond, thinking outside the box has been all Keith Caswell has ever known. Through his film and photography, he aims to bring meaning to the seemingly insignificant. He started his college education at RVCC and will find himself at Fairleigh Dickinson University for the Fall 2020 semester. Visual arts is his major, and the moving image is his passion. He has hope that these images can move the world itself.
WORK STATEMENT: "19" short film, 2 minutes 15 seconds in length, 2020
There are those in power and those amongst us that refer to COVID-19 as “The Chinese Virus.” Entitling such a deadly virus with the name of a nationality dooms those people to unfair prejudice. I am presenting my short film titled, “19” as a way to raise social and cultural awareness to the fact that people of Asian descent are now being subjected to the spread of xenophobia. We must remember that viruses have no nationality. Words matter.
